Lets just say the preparation on the run up to this race was very far from ideal. What with the impromptu unplanned extended stay on the Gold Coast, to the left leg injury and nerve pain which has still not been tested (due to the aforementioned Gold Coast drama) I have done a LOT less cycling that I was hoping for. I almost did not start this race at all.
How did it go? Hmmmmmm.
This last few weeks we have been embracing the local events, before they wrap up for the winter. The last two weekends saw us complete the annual Surf to City ILT sponsored event and also an embracing culture multicultural festival of food and dance. We went to Crank up in Jan – the annual vintage machinery show in Edendale) and the weather held off – the show has expanded and is now absolutely immense!
