This week has been all about getting some training going and some balance with work not taking over. This is quite tricky when it is still windy rainy spring time in the deep south! Still, I have figured out a way to fit in swimming without it being a pain in my ass so that must be a good thing, right?

Getting old is crappy, I have decided!

I have decided that getting old is quite simply slightly (no very) rubbish. How have I come to this conclusion? Well I have nothing fitness wise to compare to apart from my age group training and racing in my 30’s, which was cut abruptly by this knee injury.

I am back on the training roller coaster and I simply cannot knock out what I used to knock out ten years ago. This does not sit well with me! While I was stressing about this whole ‘old before my time knee replacement crappiness’, ten years of age snuck past me without noticing and now I am trying to drag this much older ass into the same training schedule I used to have before. It is not working!

And then it all went pear shaped!

This was the only way I got a ride in this week. It is proving to be a consistency battle indeed. The long ride takes up over half a day so can only take place on a day off.

This week didn’t get any. Hence bike ride problem. The only ride I got in was a turbo session on Tuesday. This does not make me a happy person. But, I guess winter is to blame. Or is it?
