Way back in May, before I had even tried riding a bike, I agreed to come on this camp. So many changes in schedule due to various covid restrictions means that I won’t actually be able to officially classified as first planned. But I hope to still learn an immense amount about para cycling – and hopefully pick up a few tricks along the way too.

#202 Don’t outwardly judge disability

There are a lot of ways people can be classified as disabled. Did you know that there is a category in the Paralympics for intellectual disability – which includes autism? My disability might be physical and outwardly visible (sometimes) but I discovered something else this week that is an invisible addition to that physical disability.

Re-modelling my life: it aint over yet. (This is massive!)

I have had issues brewing beneath the surface for a few months now, that I have not talked all that much about, but have been quietly quite concerned about. So much so, I have had quite a battle to get back into the system and have the legs looked at again. I now have the answer (which does not surprise me but also does not please me.) I feel like I have said this so many times now that the way I see myself living my future seems to change every few weeks. This is the biggest blow since losing the leg. It has made me re-evaluate my entire plan moving forward.

Wensley’s Cycles Winter Duathlon series event #2 RACE REPORT

Well I’m pretty damned chuffed with this! Today’s goal was simply to be slightly better at transitions with a handler. Having not really had a clue what I was wanting to do last time around, it taught me a few lessons that I used to make today’s transitions a bit better. I was definitely more organised with my layout and despite having a different handler, we were much more slick through transition than last time too.
