Poem: Don’t Pretend

Sometimes poetry happens for me on the spur of the moment. No one real topic, just a collection of incidents that lead me down a path.

Don’t pretend to copy me

Or I know what I’ve been through.

Don’t pretend to better me

It’s no competition for me or you.

Don’t pretend to understand

How I feel, You’re not me

I’m not you.

Don’t pretend you walked my path

The only one who walked it, is me.
