Winter bites and so do the Highlanders!

Forsyth Barr stadiumWe are now well into winter, and well into the rugby season. We have been following the Highlanders who are having the season of their lives. We headed to Dunedin to watch their play off match, which they won against the Chiefs, meaning they headed to Australia the following week to play the defending Super Rugby champions, the Waratahs.

A break in the bleak: the sun shines on the Highlanders!

IMG_9116It’s been a bleak week weather wise: unprecedented snow up in the mountains, and the New Zealand a herald was reporting that we had the ‘worst weather event on the planet’ at the time. Nice. Winter has arrived! Still, only 1 month to go till we hit the winter Equinox and it all starts looking up! We even had the first frost of the year this week. Dunedin: Highlanders and Gorgeous coastline

20140629-205454-75294365.jpg This weekend, we went up to Dunedin, a helter skelter trip straight from work on Friday evening, to get to the rugby game by 7:30pm. We JUST made it! We decided to stay over, and spend the day in the area before meandering back home on Saturday afternoon.
