I have come across this problem lately. As I am finally (FINALLY!) able to ride for an hour or so at a decent aerobic load, I have found that after just 30 mins or so, I start feeling light headed and nauseous. I have never NEVER had this type of issue ever in my life. I knew immediately it was to do with fuelling. I possibly suspected the amputation may have had an effect too, but I completely underestimated the scale of the issue and the factors influencing this.

What’s the hardest decision you’ve ever had to make? Why?

Straight away you may think that choosing to have my leg amputated would be the most difficult decision of my life, but no. Choosing amputation was one of the easiest decisions I have ever made. It was, quite simply, a no brainer.

Daily prompt: Favourite physical activities?

What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

Ooooh so many things to choose from! My opinions on this have changed a lot over the years from – what exercise?! – to when can I get out of here and exercise! It’s been a struggle finding a balance that I am happy with, that doesn’t cost me too much by the way of physical and mental fatigue afterwards.

What motivates me?

This was a question the Stuff reporter asked me yesterday referring to how I recovered relatively quickly, physically, after my amputation. I really had to stop and think for a moment. Whether I am motivated or not never occurred to me, I just am who I am.
