Why did I do this?

photo (2)I feel like I might grow fins or something lately. I agreed to go swimming with some of the special needs children that I teach which meant that I had three showers today in total.

Work is a fraction better. You cannot slack of the socialising bit, and there are times when I just don’t want to make a 110% effort, I feel tired, but friends will not come and find you if you just sit there.

The efforts are starting to show small positive signs. I went to the track this evening for a skills track session. A lady there recognised me (or rather my accent) from the spin class last week, and the lady taking the session knew who I was already, Bruce from the Tuesday session had told her all about me!

I’m enjoying having such easy access to an international velodrome, and loving the sessions (and the friendly people!) It gives me something different to look forward to, making a change from a pitch dark 6am run on cold wet streets, which is how today started out!

I also met some lovely parents today, truly wonderfully amazing supportive parents, which is so nice to know.

I need to stay focussed on why we did this: the space and the lifestyle, not the career move. I am hoping that it will even out a little as time progresses but I am currently having a mass stress about tomorrow afternoon, a group lesson with absolutely no information at all!

Nothing new there then.

Roll on Friday, anyone for the pub?
