Waka ama capsize training

Capsizing a Waka ama is surprisingly easy, but getting it back upright and getting back in is a bit of a skill.

I have never been fully submerged wearing the blade and have never capcized in a Waka ama so this surprise opportunity was a must, 1 week out from the biggest race of my life so far.

I was surprised to see that the vacuum seal on my leg that holds it on also acted as a water tight seal too. The liner and sock under the limb sleeve stayed bone dry!

Here’s how it works and how I went. I’m in seat 3 (from right to left / front to back)
