Winton A&P Show

DSC_0358 We have been to other A&P shows here, Riverton and Wyndham for example and they vary greatly but are usually interesting and a fun way to spend a few hours. Winton was having its 100th A&P show so it was sure to be even bigger and better than usual. Winton isn’t far so we thought we would take a look.

This was the first one that we have spent all day at. The entertainment was spread out, some indoors and some outdoors. There was something going on all day long. From sheep dog trials to minature horse shows, cattle and dairy shows to Clydesdales and children’s pet competitions, there was a great variety. The usual ‘home industries’ categories were there, plus some I had not seen before, and lots of categories for children to enter too. These are all taken very seriously indeed. The new one on us this time was the grandmothers breakfast tea tray’ category. The what has become a regular wood chopping demonstration / competition was also there.

A first, we spent all day there, it was a great day’s entertainment. I think you can safely say we live in farming country!
