Well I’m pretty damned chuffed with this! Today’s goal was simply to be slightly better at transitions with a handler. Having not really had a clue what I was wanting to do last time around, it taught me a few lessons that I used to make today’s transitions a bit better. I was definitely more organised with my layout and despite having a different handler, we were much more slick through transition than last time too.

#196 Getting the Covid Jab, plus Winter Duathlon #2 race report!
Being someone that is permanently disabled, my Covid risk category is the same as the elderly and I have thus been called up to get the first of 2 vaccines. Also, this weekend saw my second go at the winter Duathlon (1km walk, 10km bike, 1km walk) the last one being the 27th June. Here’s how I went this time – and it wasn’t without its challenges! Thank you Southland Triathlon and Multisport Club for the event (and the event photos!) I had an absolute blast!
I wanted to try this as soon as the event came up on the local club page: but I had all sorts of apprehensions about it. What if I can’t walk that far? How will I get through transition? What do I need the handler to do? What if my legs are toast after the bike ride and I can’t do the second run?
