How life changes in an instant: thoughts and reflections

When I woke on Saturday 20 February, 2021, I felt this day was different. I felt nauseous, light headed, I had butterflies. Why on earth am I nervous? 1900m is NOT a problem for someone who swims further than that almost every time she visits the pool. But, this day was different. This day will go down as a landmark in the history of my life. This day is definitely different.

Oxman Aquabike: racing again after 9 years off for injury

Lets just say the preparation on the run up to this race was very far from ideal. What with the impromptu unplanned extended stay on the Gold Coast, to the left leg injury and nerve pain which has still not been tested (due to the aforementioned Gold Coast drama) I have done a LOT less cycling that I was hoping for. I almost did not start this race at all.

How did it go? Hmmmmmm.

Loving to hate the bike: I prefer sprint training!

This view is beginning, quite frankly, to p1ss me off and demotivate me from cycling completely. I have decided that I much prefer sprint training, because the training blocks are short and quick, easy to fit in around all sorts of other normal every day things.

I find the indoor trainer boring as hell, quite frankly. I actually almost withdrew my entry from the Aquabike in Feb. I am really struggling with finding motivation and time to sit on a bike for hours on end.
