Southland Times coverage: ACC house modification delays

Following the article published by the Otago Daily Times (previously blogged right here) The Southland Times, after some negotiation, also came to the party. I saw this as an opportunity to write a follow up article, presenting BOTH sides as I felt like ACC blamed me the last time around, and I had no right of reply.

The reporter made it clear that she would be stepping outside of the normal journalistic style for this paper, but was keen to get my point across to counter what ACC might say this time.

Here is the online version of the article, and below is the printed version. It was a side story on the front page of the paper.

At least they used a better photo this time, not actually clipping my lower half out so you couldn’t see the disability at all.

Interesting to note also here that ACC have changed their tune and (incorrectly) claim that I am consulted throughout the process.

I do wish, however, that they would stop bleating on about the other things they have assisted me with to date, ALL of which I would not have needed if this damn fuck up had not happened to me in the first place.

As I have often said… watch this space…….
