Poem: Is this really my life?

I had this moment happen to me while wheeling through the park to my car after volunteering at Parkrun this morning.

Is this really my life?

Pushing myself along

On wheels not legs

Leg is gone

Is this really my life?

Restricted by aids

Millions of things to think

Life, gone in a blink

Is this really my life?

Bureaucracy in charge

So much I can’t do

I don’t chose, so who?

Is this really my life?

Changed for ever

So much on life’s plan

I hope I still can.
