Voices not heard – [poem]

Its been a while since I wrote a poem. I tend to find that it’s easier to portray tough messages in poetry. As I always say, less is more.

It’s been a while since I wrote a poem. I always find them an easier way to portray tough messages

Never listened to, never heard.
Worthless, irrelevant, feeling ignored.
What’s the point of advocating,
When all that happens is I’m left waiting.

Flash backs, panic and silent screams.
It’s like living in waking dreams.
Just because you can’t see it
Doesn’t mean I don’t live it.

No one’s interested in the bad days
Perfect stories the media portrays.
There’s something dark behind the debris:
The silent trauma that’s PTSD
