Dad: Birthday boy!

imageToday was dad’s birthday, we wanted to make it super special. His day started with a FaceTime call with my sister and her son in England, and we all sang him Happy Birthday from both hemispheres at once!

After presents and cards, we went out for the day for a walk in the local park (Queens Park) and left the next surprise for later.

A long time ago (1989 to be precise) a very famous day in family history took place when Dad tried some Koonunga wine while we were on holiday in the caravan. My sister and I were only kids at the time. He pulled the funniest of faces which I have on camera in an old album somewhere, and declared the wine was awful. It was something we laughed about for decades. Well, guess what I found in the local wine shop (no, it’s not a nasty as he remembered!)

We took him out for dinner too, to the Lone Star, and organised a cake. The Staff were brilliant and all sang to him. He had more blue cod while Mark ate a mountain of ribs! He came away with a complimentary Lone Star t shirt too! He had a wonderful day, we all did.
