Apparently the selection is made fortnight on Thursdays. Don’t expect an email to arrive, because it didn’t. We logged on to immigration New Zealand and there it was on the screen.
‘Selected, 12 December 2012’
It seems they spend about two weeks checking that your information is accurate before they send you the visa invitation.
