Initial job applications

I decided this weekend, what the hell, I might as well. What’s the worst that can happen, they will either

  • Not give me the job at all
  • Tell me a time schedule I cannot stick to, forcing me to not accept the job.

So, hubby trawled thought the Education Gazette and the Ministry of Education, and identified the list of special schools in New Zealand, and from those, the ones that had jobs going.

Schools do not always advertise on their own web sites, so you cannot always look there and assume they have or have got a vacancy.

I took the entire list of around 8 and asked for all the application information. What I got ranged from a detailed brochure of the school to just a letter or application form.

In general, to apply for a teaching job you need a CV and letter of application, and unusually not much more.

Although I know that special ed is a sought after area, am not expecting to hear because I have made it clear that I have not really started the process of visa application. No use telling lies, is there.
