12 months of positives

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

12 months ago today I met the man who completely changed my life. Until that day, I had no real idea what it truly meant to find my true soul mate.

I truly can’t believe it’s only been twelve months to be honest, because everything just immediately fit into place and felt right. I wasn’t even looking for anyone at the time really!

Some of last years positives

  • Found a man who truly loves me for me, accepting ALL of me regardless.
  • Got engaged to be married, when I really and honestly NEVER imagined myself doing that again in this lifetime.
  • Peter moved down to Southland to be with me and is absolutely loving it down here.
  • I’m making fabulous progress (with my partner in crime!) completely redecorating my house
  • Visited my Dad & his wife in France with Peter
  • Set a wedding date for 2024

There are so many more things I could pop in here, the list could go on for ever.

I’m starting to get my mojo back for exercise and am now, for the first time in over a decade, following a training plan again.

Lost count now of how many times I have restarted my next attempt to run again!

And I have also found some new non exercise related pastimes for the first time since I was a uni student! Oh my occupational therapist would be so proud of me! She used to nag me something chronic about needing to find something else to do instead of exercise, while recuperating from my amputation! 🤪

My very first ‘book nook’ build

And best of all, pretty much all of my legal stuff is back to my maiden name, and that’s where it’s going to stay! 😎

  1. I am so happy for you both…you deserve to be happy Melanie..you say Peter moved down…where did he move from…looking forward to seeing your wedding photos next year.. I have followed your story since you were in the UK and thinking of New Zealand…it’s been years of ups and downs …onwards and upwards with Peter taking care of you.
