A Year that’s past: poem

I reflect on 2020 with mixed emotions. A roller coaster year that I sometimes struggle to put into words. Here’s my thoughts on MY 2020

The horrors of the year have past

Feel grateful I survived

The mountain still to climb is vast

With the thought of that I cried.

Emotions high, emotions low,

I keep it all inside

The smiles produced to show the world,

The whole story, you’ll never know.

Goals drive me on, tick off the wins,

Quietly one by one.

But deep inside my heart still aches

For everything that’s gone.

Looking at the year ahead

As certain as I can,

Doubts cloud my mind, I’m sure I can,

Or can I? Time will tell.
